Our Story

A place that
doesn't pretend
to be anything else.

Dye Creek Ranch Lodge sits along the Sacramento River in the Chico Basin, where the land opens up and the pace slows to something honest. We're not a resort trying to impress you — we're a working ranch property that opened its doors to travelers who want the real Northern California.

The rooms are comfortable. The grounds are quiet. The river is right there. If that sounds like exactly what you need, you've found it.

The Experience

What you'll
actually do

There's no schedule here. The options are simple, and they don't require reservations.

Fishing the Sacramento

Steelhead and salmon season runs October through March. The river is accessible right from the property — bring your gear or ask us for local guidance.

Hiking the Chico Basin

Mile after mile of ridge trails, oak woodlands, and river canyons. The Pacific Crest passes within a short drive, but the local trails are just as good.

Sunsets from the porch

Some of the clearest western skies in the valley. Bring a chair. Stay as long as you want. This is the main event.

Chico & the surrounding towns

Downtown Chico is 30 minutes away — coffee shops, bookstores, farmers markets. But the silence here is worth staying for.
